Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is encouraging Kadavu residents to maintain their vigilance on officials to ensure swift action on development projects. Mr. Rabuka has extended an apology to the Kadavu people for the sluggish utilization of funds set aside for the province’s development. He recognized the delays, calling on islanders to continually verify the progress of local projects with various governmental ministries.

Mr. Rabuka affirmed the citizens’ right to hold their government responsible and ensure community developments are carried out as planned. He made clear that unused development funds from the past fiscal year still remain within the Finance Ministry’s budget. The Kadavu Provincial Council meeting, happening at Suva Civic Centre, concludes today.
