Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has announced plans to meet with several members of the deregistered FijiFirst party this weekend.
In an interview, Mr. Rabuka discussed the possibility of these members joining The People’s Alliance party.
“I’m meeting some of them this weekend,” he said, though he did not disclose any specific names.
“It’s just a group request from Mo Bulitavu.”
Rabuka mentioned that the group would be accompanied by his nephew, Opposition member Mosese Bulitavu.
“I do not know whether it’s led by him, but he is my nephew. So, we have been communicating.”
This development follows the deregistration of the FijiFirst party, leading to speculation about the political future of its members.
The discussions this weekend could be a significant turning point for the former FijiFirst members, potentially aligning them with the policies and vision of The People’s Alliance.
