The Water Authority of Fiji is alerting residents in specific areas that may face potential water supply disruptions due to high turbidity conditions expected at the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant. This warning comes in response to heavy rainfall that could adversely affect the quality of the water sources.

As a result of these challenging conditions, a decrease in water production at the Tamavua treatment facility is anticipated. Specifically, areas that may experience difficulties include Mika Drue Place, Pathik Crescent, Mead Road, Volavola Road, Evetts Place, Top Shop Road, elevated regions along Lakha Singh Road (including Sakoca Road), and parts of Tacirua Road (such as Raibevu Road and Tacirua Heights). Other affected locations include MH Superfresh, Upper Mead Road, Princes Road from Twomey Hospital to Loa Street Junction, Old Delanivesi Areas, and various neighborhoods in Lami Village.

The Water Authority is actively monitoring the situation and is committed to managing production levels to mitigate the impact on water supply for customers.

In challenging weather conditions, it’s essential for communities to stay informed and prepared. The proactive measures being taken by the Water Authority exemplify their dedication to maintaining service continuity during adverse events. Residents are encouraged to conserve water where possible and stay tuned for further updates from the authorities.
