Tailevu Naitasiri, Nasinu, and Lami FC have secured their spots in the semi-finals of the 2024 FMF Inter-District Championship Premier Division, which is set to take place on Saturday.

In a decisive Group A match earlier in the day, Lami FC and Nasinu FC ended in a 1-1 draw. This result left Nasinu, Bua, and Lami each with two points and identical goal differences. However, due to the Fair Play points system, Nasinu FC emerged as the group leader, with Lami FC finishing in the runner-up position.

As a result, Tailevu Naitasiri will face Lami FC in the first semi-final, while the second semi-final opponent for Nasinu will be determined later today following the match between Savusavu FC and Tavua FC. The semi-finals will be held at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

Meanwhile, Nadi FC has kept their semi-final hopes alive with a strong 4-1 victory over Nadroga in their Group B encounter. Coached by Raj Dayal, Nadi took a 2-0 lead at halftime with goals from Siotame Kubu and Ratu Tulivou. Although Semesa Sacere scored for Nadroga, additional goals from Ereniko Matau and Siotame Kubu ensured a comfortable win for Nadi.

Nadi’s coach expressed satisfaction with his players’ performance and awaits the outcome of the Rewa vs. Ba match. On the other hand, Nadroga’s interim coach Sunil Kumar stated that the final score did not accurately represent the game, as his team squandered several scoring opportunities.
