Premier Division Showdown: Who Will Advance to the Finals?

Tailevu Naitasiri, Nasinu, and Lami FC have secured their spots in the semi-finals of the 2024 FMF Inter-District Championship Premier Division, which will take place on Saturday.

In a Group A match earlier in the day, Lami FC and Nasinu FC ended in a 1-1 draw. This result left Nasinu, Bua, and Lami all tied with two points each and equal goal differences. However, based on the Fair Play points, Nasinu FC emerged as the group leader, with Lami FC as the runner-up.

As a result, Tailevu Naitasiri is set to face Lami FC in the first Premier Division semi-final. The outcome of the match between Savusavu FC and Tavua FC, taking place later today, will determine who goes up against Nasinu in the second semi-final scheduled for Saturday at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

In another Group B match earlier today, Nadi FC revived their semi-final hopes with a decisive 4-1 victory over Nadroga. The team, guided by coach Raj Dayal, led 2-0 at halftime thanks to goals from Siotame Kubu and Ratu Tulivou. Although Nadroga’s Semesa Sacere managed to score, goals from Ereniko Matau and Siotame Kubu secured the win for the Jetsetters.

Nadi’s coach expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance as they await the outcome of the Rewa vs. Ba match. In contrast, Nadroga’s interim coach Sunil Kumar stated that the final score did not accurately reflect the match, as his team had squandered numerous scoring opportunities.
