Hot on his heels was Tomasi Tuivuna, who secured second place with a score of 142 and took home $1,400.
Expressing his joy at the victory, Prakash remarked that this win marked his best performance in the tournament so far, after finishing second in previous years. He noted, “I have finished second in the past years, which was disappointing, and this was my best finish. I was being consistent… this win just shows I’m consistent when I’m on the green.” His disciplined approach and mental focus played a crucial role in his success, as he emphasized the importance of staying calm and recovering quickly from mistakes on the course.
In the amateur division, Shakeel Pillay emerged victorious with an overall gross score of 70, also winning the longest drive in the men’s category. The amateur competition was fiercely contested, with Suresh Mani posting an exceptional overall nett score of 65, followed by Joe Drauna in A Grade with a score of 66, and Salen Naidu achieving 68 points in B Grade. In the ladies’ division, Tracey Salthouse topped the overall gross category with 89, while Seini Lewa claimed the overall nett victory with a score of 77.
