Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) has announced the construction of a significant 132,000-volt transmission line from Virarara to Koronubu in Ba. This project aims to enhance the power supply in the Northwest Region of Viti Levu and its surrounding areas.

As part of the developments, EFL will relocate the existing power lines and customer service mains to make way for the new transmission line. To ensure safety during the construction, EFL plans to implement scheduled power shutdowns in the Koronubu area from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM throughout the work period, which is set to take place from October to December 2024.

The planned outages could occur on any day of the week, including weekends and public holidays. EFL promises to notify customers three days in advance through newspapers, its official website, and SMS alerts.

In summary, the construction of this new transmission line is a positive step towards improving the power infrastructure in Fiji, reinforcing the commitment to providing reliable electricity to the residents of the region. By proactively informing customers and managing the schedule carefully, EFL is demonstrating its dedication to minimizing inconvenience during this important upgrade.
