The leader of the People’s Alliance Party, Sitiveni Rabuka, has announced that General Secretary Usaia Waqatairewa is resigning. Rabuka pointed to Waqatairewa’s lack of efficiency in his role as a party official and expressed his intention to seek Waqatairewa’s removal at the upcoming Management Board Committee Meeting. When approached for comment by FijiLive, Waqatairewa declined to discuss the situation. The party recently held its Annual General Assembly in Lautoka. Further updates will follow.
