Parliament was adjourned earlier today due to an unexpected power outage in the capital. Parliament Speaker Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu concluded the session at 3:05 PM, explaining to members that the power disruption had impacted the automatic recording system managed by the ITC (Information Technology & Computing).
He noted, “As a result, the system cannot broadcast and the FTR (For the Record) cannot record as well. That is how the Hansard team records all that is said and done for our future records.”
The House is scheduled to reconvene tomorrow at 9:30 AM.
