The condition of the roads at the Suva Bus Stand has raised significant concerns among both pedestrians and bus operators. Operators have reported a growing number of potholes, which complicate navigation during peak hours, leading to frustrations for users of this essential transit point.
In response to these challenges, the Suva City Council (SCC) has prioritized road repairs in the area. Acting Chief Executive Officer Tevita Boseiwaqa has confirmed that the council is actively communicating with the Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) to address the road conditions.
Mr. Boseiwaqa stated, “We are treating this as a priority,” and reassured the public that repairs will commence as soon as possible. He noted that the wet weather has significantly contributed to the road’s deterioration, and planning for repairs is contingent upon improved weather conditions.
This proactive approach from the Suva City Council indicates a commitment to enhancing public infrastructure, ultimately benefiting commuters and improving overall transit safety in the region.
As optimistic improvements are on the horizon, residents and users of the Suva Bus Stand can look forward to better road conditions facilitating safer and smoother travel in the near future.
