Postal service provider Post Fiji Pte Limited has rejoined the M-PAiSA agent network, a development that promises to enhance financial accessibility across the nation, especially in remote areas. This timely partnership serves as a vital resource for families in rural and maritime regions as they prepare for the upcoming school year.
The integration of M-PAiSA services at Post Fiji locations allows parents and guardians in these hard-to-reach areas to conveniently access government funds for purchasing school essentials such as stationery, bags, uniforms, and other supplies. Additionally, they will be able to make cashless payments through M-PAiSA QR at these outlets.
Post Fiji’s CEO, Mr. Isaac Mow, highlighted the company’s extensive network of physical outlets that effectively bridges the service gap between urban financial hubs and remote communities. He emphasized that leveraging this existing infrastructure enables seamless cash-in and cash-out services, as well as cashless payments where they are needed most.
Shailendra Prasad, the general manager of Digital Financial Services (DFS), expressed enthusiasm about Post Fiji resuming its role as M-PAiSA agents. He noted that Post Fiji is strategically positioned for rural and maritime outreach, possessing the capacity and trained personnel to deliver professional services efficiently. This collaboration aims to extend M-PAiSA services into hard-to-reach areas, where they can make a significant impact.
Prasad pointed out that the primary advantage of this partnership is the significant savings in both travel time and costs for users, as M-PAiSA services become available at local post offices. Trained staff will ensure that digital financial transactions are handled securely and efficiently.
This collaboration reflects the commitment of both M-PAiSA and Post Fiji to promote financial inclusion and to support the economic well-being of all Fijians, irrespective of their geographical location. Furthermore, it provides opportunities for social welfare beneficiaries who may choose to receive their monthly allowances via M-PAiSA, allowing them to withdraw funds conveniently at Post Fiji outlets across the country. Finally, thousands of rural M-PAiSA users receiving remittances from abroad will have access to the full suite of M-PAiSA services right at their local post offices, enhancing their financial ease and connectivity.
