Dr. Atonio Lalabalavu addressed questions regarding his political alignment amidst discussions of party divisions, stating, “That is not a question you should be asking me,” when inquired whether he supported Mr. Rabuka or the faction looking to form a new party. He emphasized his commitment to unity among his constituents, saying, “I’m from Cakaudrove. We are one voice.”
Dr. Lalabalavu expressed his dedication to the current government and the importance of his work in the ministry. He stated, “I support the PM and the party, and as a Government, I’m here to work and ensure the work that I do has an impact on the ground.”
He conveyed that he is not focused on individuals leaving the party to establish their own but is committed to his responsibilities. “I have a lot of work to do within the ministry, and I will put all my efforts into it, reiterating that the PM has my full support.”
