The Momo Levu Na Tui Nadi, Ratu Vuniyani Navuniuci, has publicly criticized Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) politician Seremaia Tuiteci, who alleged that he and Tui Nawaka Ratu Joeli Bulu plan to join the party.
In a strongly worded statement to the media, Ratu Vuniyani firmly rejected Tuiteci’s claims, stating, “I categorically deny the unfounded allegations made by Seremaia Tuiteci, President of the SODELPA Ba/West/Yasawa Constituency, as reported in certain media outlets.”
He emphasized that neither he nor Tui Nawaka Ratu Joeli Bulu has expressed any desire to abandon their current political affiliations or align with SODELPA. “These claims are entirely false and misleading. Tuiteci’s statements are baseless fabrications that misrepresent my position and seek to distort the public perception of my political affiliation for his gain,” he added.
Both Ratu Vuniyani and Tui Nawaka have demanded an official apology from Tuiteci for spreading misinformation and attempting to create discord within their communities.
As a traditional leader, Ratu Vuniyani reaffirmed his commitment to his people and expressed unwavering support for Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s leadership. He urged media outlets and the public to ignore these false accusations and to uphold the truth.
“I will continue to uphold my duty to my people to maintain unity and transparency,” he stated.
