“Policing Under Pressure: SSP Vaisewa’s Ultimatum to Officers”

The Divisional Police Commander West, SSP Iakobo Vaisewa, has urged officers to either enhance their performance or consider resigning if they are unable to meet the demands of their roles. This statement was made during the fourth quarter divisional parade last week, which included officers from Rakiraki to Sigatoka.

SSP Vaisewa emphasized the importance of addressing complaints effectively by adhering strictly to established processes and procedures. He instructed his officers to treat every report seriously and to ensure that they provide appropriate advice, leaving complainants satisfied with the outcome.

“No report should be taken lightly, and proper advice must be provided to complainants so they leave feeling content,” SSP Vaisewa stated. He also reaffirmed the Acting Commissioner’s firm stance against any officers engaging in criminal activities, warning that those who exploit their position for personal gain through illegal activities would face serious consequences.
