A man has been arrested after allegedly throwing stones at a police vehicle on Ratu Mara Road in Nabua last night. The arrest was made by the Southern Division Task Force after 9 PM, and authorities are now focusing on identifying a second individual involved in the incident.
Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu stressed the gravity of attacking police officers, indicating that such acts impede their ability to serve the community effectively. He urged for public collaboration in crime prevention and called for a united effort to cultivate safer neighborhoods. “We need to be working together, and not against each other if we are to achieve the overall intent of safe communities for all,” Tudravu remarked.
Currently, the arrested suspect is being interrogated at the Nabua Police Station, while local authorities continue their search for the second suspect. This incident highlights the crucial relationship between law enforcement and the community in maintaining public safety.
Moreover, it may spark further discussions about community trust and cooperation with police, particularly as calls for calm resonate amidst regional tensions. Open dialogue can help foster a positive relationship and contribute to ensuring peace and security for all residents, paving the way for a more collaborative future.
