The Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, has issued a stern message regarding threats made on social media, urging individuals to maintain their composure and allow the police to perform their responsibilities effectively.

In light of heightened emotions in the community, ACP Driu appealed to all parties to remain calm and refrain from taking matters into their own hands, which could further escalate the situation. “Taking matters into your own hands will only escalate the situation and make things worse,” he emphasized.

The police have actively begun detaining suspects involved in recent incidents, with one bouncer already taken into custody. ACP Driu confirmed, “Last night, we apprehended one individual, and he is currently in our custody.”

A police team from the Totogo Police Station is diligently collecting statements from witnesses and individuals involved in the events in Namatakula Village. “We urge all individuals involved to cooperate fully with the investigation by providing statements and any available evidence,” he stated.
