Six police officers face charges including abuse of office, assault causing actual bodily harm, obtaining a financial advantage through deception, unlawful possession of illegal drugs, and wrongful confinement. Acting Police Commissioner Sakeo Raikaci reported that police officers themselves have also been victims of crime while on duty. He stated that 171 officers were reported as victims in 219 incidents, with 33 involved in cases that included multiple charges. These incidents comprised serious assaults, resisting arrest, and obstruction of police in the performance of their duties.
