The Extra Supermarket-sponsored Police team celebrated a dominant 6-1 win against the Army in the prestigious Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl soccer competition held at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday. This victory allowed the Police squad to retain their esteemed trophy.
The match commenced with an unexpected twist when Army goalkeeper Epeli Loaniceva inadvertently scored an own goal, giving Police a 1-0 lead at halftime. In the second half, the Police team showcased their skill and teamwork, with Ratu Apenisa Anare and Sailosi Nalaubu each netting goals that pushed the score to 3-0.
Nalaubu further sealed the deal with another goal in the 56th minute. Although Army managed to score their only goal, courtesy of Salacieli Dakuna in the 61st minute, Police quickly responded with three additional goals to secure their resounding 6-1 victory.
