The Fiji Police Force successfully defended their title in the 2024 Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl Competition, narrowly defeating the Army with a score of 20-19 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday. This win holds special significance as it coincides with the 150th anniversary of the Fiji Police Force.
Team Coach Solomone Nute praised his players for their dedication and tenacity throughout the match, particularly highlighting young talent Ponipate Tuberi, who was awarded man of the match for his exceptional performance.
On the other hand, Army captain John Muller expressed disappointment over the loss, noting that his team had several opportunities that could have led to victory.
Throughout the week-long Sukuna Bowl competition, the Police exhibited impressive dominance, securing wins in various sports including cricket, soccer, boxing, volleyball, and a development rugby match. The Army could only claim victories in netball and women’s rugby.
