Police Team Dominates Opening Day of Sukuna Bowl Boxing!

The Police boxing team had a strong start at the Sukuna Bowl Boxing competition held at the LICI Court in Suva on Tuesday, securing victories in seven out of the 11 matches. Leading the team was Jone Davule, a representative of National Amateur Boxing, who showcased his skills by defeating Pita Nasowaqa from the Army team on points in his opening bout.

In the lightweight category, Police’s Petero Vunivalu also claimed victory, overcoming Army’s Ratu Kelevi Mawi. On the other hand, Army’s Samuela Naqari emerged victorious against Jone Tuitabu in the 80 to 86kg weight class. The Army team also celebrated wins from fighters Rusiate Qalo, Noa Yabakidrau, and Meli Nailumu.

The competition is set to continue today with the finals, promising more exciting matches ahead.
