As the Ratu Sukuna Bowl approaches, the Fiji Police Force has announced its football team for the highly anticipated annual match against the Army next month. Manager Navin Sami unveiled the 25-member squad on Saturday after the conclusion of the Police Inter-Formation Soccer Tournament, where Western Division Team Two emerged victorious over the Police Mobile Force with a score of 1-0.
The winning team contributes significantly to the squad, with six players selected to represent the Police. Sami indicated that the team would commence training soon, featuring well-known footballers including Akuila Mataisuva, Simione Tamanisau, Tevita Waranivalu, and Sairusi Nalaubu.
The Police team heads into this year’s Sukuna Bowl as the defending champions, having played to a 1-1 draw against the Army in last year’s match, where they scored first in the first half at the Fiji Football Association Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa, Suva.
