The Fiji Police Force is working to identify the owners of drug farms after seizing over 2,000 plants suspected to be marijuana in the northern region.
Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu stated that ongoing efforts to reduce the supply of green drugs have targeted cultivators, leading to several farm raids in recent days.
ACP Driu mentioned that a raid conducted yesterday in the Tacilevu area resulted in the seizure of nearly 400 plants believed to be marijuana. The owner of the farm has not yet been located.
In a separate operation in the Waisagavuna area, two farms were raided, resulting in the seizure of close to 1,700 plants suspected to be marijuana.
ACP Driu emphasized that the focus remains on supply reduction, and operations are aimed at reducing both white and green drugs across all five policing divisions.
