Police Seize Over 2000 Marijuana Plants in Recent Raids

The Fiji Police Force is working to identify the owners of drug farms following the seizure of over 2,000 plants suspected to be marijuana in the North.

Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu stated that ongoing efforts to curtail the supply of green drugs by targeting cultivators have led to multiple farm raids in recent days.

ACP Driu reported that a recent raid in the Tacilevu area resulted in the confiscation of nearly 400 plants suspected to be marijuana. The owner of the farm has not yet been located.

Additionally, a separate operation in the Waisagavuna area led to the seizure of approximately 1,700 plants believed to be marijuana from two different farms.

ACP Driu emphasized that the current focus is on reducing supply, with operations aimed at decreasing both white and green drugs across all five policing divisions.
