Traffic investigators are seeking assistance from the public to identify a man who was tragically killed in an accident in the Southern Division. According to Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. last Friday on the Queens Road near Talenaua in Navua. Reports indicate that the victim was lying in the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 36-year-old man.
The victim was transported to Navua Hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival. SSP Divuana noted that, despite inquiries, the victim, described as an i-Taukei male in his late 20s, remains unidentified. In an effort to shed light on this case, authorities are releasing images of the clothing the victim was wearing and a tattoo located on his left arm, hoping it may prompt someone to come forward with identifying information.
