Police Ramp Up Drug Operations Amid Holiday Surge

Law enforcement agencies are ramping up drug operations in response to the increased activity surrounding school holidays, festivals, meetings, and conferences.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu has issued a stern warning to individuals involved in the illegal drug trade, stating that they will be apprehended.

Recent law enforcement actions in Kadavu have led to the discovery of drugs and multiple arrests for unlawful possession.

ACP Driu is encouraging the public to report any information related to drug activities by contacting 917 or Crime Stoppers at 919, emphasizing the community’s role in fighting drug-related issues.

K9 operations are being bolstered through collaboration with the New Zealand Police under the Fiji Police Partnership Programme, which aims to enhance the capabilities of Fiji Police’s Dog Patrol in conjunction with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.
