A recent police operation in Wairuku, Rakiraki, led to the discovery of suspected illegal drugs and the arrest of four individuals. The raid, carried out by the Western Division operations team on a Tuesday, focused on a residence belonging to a 21-year-old man, where authorities found clear plastic bags filled with dried leaves believed to be marijuana, as well as substances thought to be methamphetamine.
In addition to the drugs, officers confiscated mobile phones, syringes, packing materials, and a mix of local and foreign currency, which they suspect may be connected to criminal elements. The arrested individuals include the 21-year-old, alongside three other men aged 44, 24, and 18. The seized drugs are now undergoing laboratory testing as the investigation continues.
