A dedicated team from the Criminal Investigations Department is set to extract and verify information brought to light by a former police officer in a recent social media video, which accuses multiple public officials of participating in the illicit drug trade.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime, Mesake Waqa, stated that the subsequent actions will depend on the results after the verification process. He also noted that efforts had been in motion prior to the video’s release to identify and establish links to those involved in drug trafficking activities. This initiative aligns with the Commissioner of Police’s commitment to dismantling networks of individuals or groups engaged in such illegal activities.

The proactive approach taken by the police highlights the importance of addressing drug-related issues and the potential corruption tied to them, reflecting a serious commitment to uphold the law and ensure accountability among public officials.
