Police Probe Disturbing Allegations at School Dormitory

Police are currently looking into the reported rape of a male student by a group of male peers at a school located on Vanua Levu. The incident occurred at a school in Cakaudrove. Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew confirmed that a report has been received and an investigation is underway. The victim and the alleged suspects, all aged between 14 to 17, are said to have been involved in the incident, which reportedly happened inside the school’s boarding dormitory. Questions directed to the Education Ministry’s permanent secretary, Selina Kuruleca, went unanswered when this report was filed.
