The Fiji Police Force successfully retained the 2024 Vodafone Ratu Sukuna Bowl Competition, emerging victorious over the Army with a score of 20-19 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva yesterday. This win is particularly meaningful as it coincides with the celebration of the Fiji Police Force’s 150th anniversary.

Team Coach Solomone Nute praised his players for their unwavering effort and determination throughout the match, highlighting the remarkable performance of young Ponipate Tuberi, who was named man of the match for his contributions.

On the other hand, Army captain John Muller expressed his disappointment, pointing out that the team had several opportunities to clinch the victory.

Throughout the week-long Sukuna Bowl competition, the Police team showcased their dominance by securing victories in various sports, including Cricket, Soccer, Boxing, Volleyball, and Development rugby. In comparison, the Army earned wins only in Netball and women’s rugby.

This year’s tournament not only celebrates athletic prowess but also emphasizes the importance of teamwork and resilience within both teams, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition.
