The safety of citizens during the upcoming festive and cyclone seasons hinges on the preparedness and responsiveness of law enforcement agencies. This was emphasized by Divisional Police Commander East (DPC/E), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Joape Cakacaka, at his inaugural operational readiness check parade held on Thursday in Nausori, specifically for officers in the Eastern Division.
During the event, SSP Cakacaka urged his team to embody professionalism at all times, reminding them of the high standards of discipline essential to their role. He emphasized, “As guardians of peace and safety, it is imperative that we uphold the values of integrity, respect, humility, and professionalism in all that we do.”
Highlighting the dual nature of the upcoming festive season—which brings both joy and potential challenges—he called for an unwavering commitment to duty and excellence from all officers. Cakacaka noted that police actions reflect on both the individual and the Fiji Police Force as a whole, thereby stressing the importance of maintaining public trust.
The Eastern Division encompasses a wide area, including Nakasi, Nausori, Naitasiri, Tailevu, Rewa, and the Lomaiviti Group. In preparation for the approaching seasons, thorough checks were conducted on land and maritime resources, reinforcing the message that the safety of citizens relies heavily on police readiness and responsiveness.
SSP Cakacaka concluded by encouraging officers to maintain their focus and dedication to their duty, ensuring high standards in service delivery. As the community gears up for the festive season, the proactive stance by law enforcement inspires confidence and hope among citizens that their safety is a top priority.
This proactive approach by law enforcement is reassuring for communities, signifying not only their commitment to safety but also their dedication to service during both celebratory and challenging times.
