The officers, namely Roy Seinibici, Inoke Tikomaimalevani, and Samisoni Ralulu, along with civilians Anare Buresolei and Anare Buresolei Vulaki, face charges of interfering with evidence.

The allegations state that between February 9 and 10 of this year, these individuals, acting as either primary or secondary offenders, were involved in tampering with the seized drugs during an operation conducted by the Southern Division Police Operation team. The case was set to commence today before Suva Senior Magistrate Sufia Hamza; however, all matters listed for today have been adjourned.

The charges are supported by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and the accused will return to court on January 14, 2025.

This development highlights ongoing efforts within the judicial system to uphold the integrity of law enforcement and evidence handling. While the situation remains serious, it’s essential to recognize that the legal proceedings will allow for a thorough examination of the facts and provide the accused an opportunity to respond to the allegations.

Overall, this case underscores the importance of accountability in law enforcement and reinforces trust in the judicial process as it navigates these serious accusations.
