The Police Netball team is gearing up with determination to reclaim the Vodafone Sukuna Bowl title from the Army this year, and their preparations are already in full swing. According to assistant team manager Arieta Samosi, the team has been intensively training for the past two weeks in hopes of overcoming the Army’s recent dominance in the competition.
“Our preparations are going well. We started two weeks ago with our training, and this morning our girls are in Sigatoka, training at the Sigatoka Sand Dunes to prepare them well for the upcoming Sukuna Bowl,” Samosi remarked. The team is focused on one clear goal: bringing the trophy back to the Police camp after a couple of years of defeats to the Army.
Samosi expressed confidence in the team’s ability to change their fortunes this year, saying, “We have been losing to Army for the past couple of years, but this year we are confident it will be a different story. from the beginning of our training, our only focus has been on winning the title this year.” She encouraged fans and supporters across Fiji to rally behind the team as they head toward this much-anticipated clash.
The 2025 Vodafone Sukuna Bowl is scheduled to kick off on October 17 in Suva, with the rugby and soccer games taking place in Vanua Levu on October 20 and 21. The excitement surrounding the event continues to build, with hopes that the Police team will achieve their goal and end the Army’s reign in the tournament.
In the spirit of community and sportsmanship, both teams have demonstrated resilience in their quest for victory. As fans eagerly await this year’s competition, the Police team looks poised to put forth a strong performance, fostering further unity and excitement among supporters.
