In a recent Volleyball competition, Police Servers 2 triumphed over Army Servers 2, winning 2 out of 3 sets. In another thrilling match, the Police Wives secured a victory against the Army Wives, overcoming them in a tight contest that went to a total of 5 sets.
Police Wives Team Captain, Mereia Tuisawau, shared her insights on the challenging preparation leading up to today’s game. She expressed, “It was quite a tough journey as most of us spend our days away from our families, especially as many of us have children, which makes those days difficult.”
Echoing her sentiments, Police Wives Team Coach, Ratu Seremaia Tuinausori, praised the team’s dedication during training, attributing their success to hard work. He stated, “All thanks go to God for giving us the energy today to carry out this game. While the Army Wives dominated the first set, we were not disheartened as we trusted our training from the past couple of months.”
Tuisawau also shed light on the challenges the team faced in preparation for the match against the Army Wives. “A significant challenge we experienced as a team was the ongoing adjustments with our players due to some changes made by higher authorities. Two of our players are also involved in the Netball team, and one is playing for the rugby sevens team, but I thank God for giving all of us players a good heart.”
The Fiji Police Force has showcased its prowess in volleyball competitions over the past few years and aims to maintain that dominance as they vie for the title this year.
This continuous commitment to teamwork and resilience illustrates not only the spirit of the athletes involved but also highlights the supportive connections they maintain despite personal challenges. The hope is that their hard work will propel them to further successes in the future.
