In an exciting round of Volleyball competition, the Police Servers 2 triumphed over Army Servers 2 in a match that concluded with a score of 2 sets to 1. Additionally, the Police Wives team emerged victorious against the Army Wives in a thrilling contest that went the distance, winning 3 sets out of 5.
Mereia Tuisawau, the captain of the Police Wives, reflected on the challenging preparations leading up to the game. “It was quite a tough journey as most of us would spend our days away from our families, especially since many of us are mothers, which made these days particularly difficult,” she stated.
The team’s coach, Ratu Seremaia Tuinausori, praised his players for their dedication during training, which contributed significantly to their performance in today’s match. “We are thankful to God for providing us the energy to compete today. Even though the Army Wives took the lead in the first set, we remained optimistic and relied on the training we had undertaken over the last few months,” he shared.
Tuisawau also addressed some of the hurdles the team faced while preparing for the competition. “A significant challenge we encountered was the frequent changes in our lineup due to decisions made by higher authorities. This was further complicated by the fact that two of our players were also involved in the netball team, while one was participating in the rugby sevens. Despite these obstacles, I am grateful for the determination and good spirit shown by all team members,” she expressed.
The Fiji Police Force has been a dominant force in the volleyball competitions in recent years and is poised to retain its title in the ongoing tournament.
This ongoing victory storyline not only celebrates the achievements of the Police teams but also highlights the commitment and resilience shown by the players, particularly the Police Wives, in balancing sports with family responsibilities. It serves as an encouraging reminder of how dedication and teamwork can lead to success, despite the challenges faced along the way.
The Fiji Police Force’s continued success in the volleyball arena can inspire other teams to strive for excellence and teamwork as they pursue their own competitive goals.
