“Police Crackdown on Unruly Behavior at Deans Quarter-Finals!”

The Director of Traffic, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, has issued a warning to students and schools regarding unruly behavior at the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby Union Vodafone Deans quarter-finals taking place tomorrow. SSP Divuana emphasized that traffic officers will not shy away from confiscating items such as flags if they are being used recklessly from moving vehicles.

“Traffic officers will be more visible along the Queens Highway, as well as on major roads and in the capital city,” SSP Divuana stated. He reiterated that flags are not allowed to be displayed outside the windows of buses and cars, urging parents, teachers, and guardians to supervise children’s behavior closely.

Drivers have been reminded to plan their travel in advance to avoid any last-minute rush. “We are asking for everyone’s cooperation to prevent any major incidents on our roads,” he added.

The Raluve quarter-finals are set to take place today at the HFC Bank Stadium in Laucala, Suva, while the Super Deans quarter-finals are scheduled for the following day. The police have previously noted that some students have misbehaved during and after the matches, and they are committed to taking action against those who violate the laws.
