Police Crackdown: Officer Targeted in Drug Seizure Bribery Attempt

Police officers are being reminded of their crucial role in combating drug supply, and the Fiji Police Force is resolute in its stance against any attempts by individuals involved in drug trade to obstruct their efforts.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu emphasized this message following the arrest of a 31-year-old man in Caubati, who was apprehended after officers discovered clear plastic bags containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine, as well as dried leaves thought to be marijuana. During his arrest, the suspect allegedly attempted to bribe a police officer.

ACP Driu assured the public that any reports of police misconduct will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate disciplinary and legal actions will be taken against those involved.
