Police are being reminded of their critical role in combating drug trafficking, and the Fiji Police Force is committed to thwarting any attempts by individuals involved in the drug trade to undermine their efforts.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu made this statement following the arrest of a 31-year-old man in Caubati yesterday. During the arrest, authorities found clear plastic bags containing white crystals, suspected to be methamphetamine, as well as dried leaves, believed to be marijuana. The arrested individual allegedly attempted to bribe a police officer at the time of his apprehension.
ACP Driu assured the public that if any allegations arise involving police misconduct, appropriate disciplinary actions will be pursued, including both internal and criminal investigations.
