Police Crack Down on Drug Trade: Five Arrested in Nadi Raid

A team from the Joint Serious and Organised Crime Unit in Suva and the West carried out a raid in Nadi on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the arrest of five men suspected of being involved in the illegal drug trade.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime, Mesake Waqa, reported that several sachets containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine, along with dried leaves thought to be marijuana, were confiscated during the operation.

The seized items have been sent for testing as the investigation proceeds, and the five arrested individuals remain in custody.

Additionally, several other arrests were made in the past week concerning individuals suspected of selling both green and white drugs across five policing divisions.

The Fiji Police Force acknowledges the role of community cooperation in these arrests and encourages anyone with relevant information to contact them at 917 or through Crimestoppers at 919.
