Police Crack Down on Drug Trade: A Warning to Corrupt Officers

Police officers are being reminded of their crucial role in disrupting drug trafficking, and the Fiji Police Force remains steadfast in opposing any efforts by drug dealers to hinder their initiatives.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu emphasized this point after a 31-year-old man was arrested in Caubati following the discovery of clear plastic bags containing white crystals, suspected to be methamphetamine, and dried leaves believed to be marijuana. During the arrest, the suspect allegedly attempted to bribe a police officer.

ACP Driu assured the public that any reports of police misconduct will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate disciplinary actions, including internal and criminal proceedings, will be enforced.
