Five individuals were apprehended last night in Narere following a police raid that uncovered six zip-lock bags filled with white crystals. Additionally, a police team made significant progress in the fight against illegal drugs by uprooting 272 green plants, believed to be marijuana, in the Tacilevu farming area of Savusavu.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operation (ACP) Livai Driu commented on the ongoing efforts to combat drug-related offenses, noting that such raids are conducted daily, resulting in multiple arrests and charges. He highlighted the collaborative efforts with local community leaders, specifically mentioning the role of the Turaga ni Koro in aiding police operations. ACP Driu expressed optimism about the growing community support, as more individuals are coming forward with valuable information.

As the festive season approaches, ACP Driu assured the public that the police will persist in their drug raids to eliminate drug presence in the community. While investigations are still ongoing regarding the unidentified plants, no arrests have been made yet related to that specific incident.

This proactive approach by law enforcement reflects a dedicated commitment to enhancing community safety and well-being. The engagement of local residents in supporting police efforts is a hopeful sign of collective responsibility and vigilance against drug-related issues. Communities working together can indeed create a more secure environment for everyone.
