Authorities in Narere made significant progress in their fight against drug-related crime with the arrest of five individuals following a police raid at a residential property. During the operation, law enforcement discovered six zip-lock bags containing white crystalline substances, believed to be illegal drugs.

In a separate effort to combat drug cultivation, a police team successfully uprooted 272 green plants thought to be marijuana in the Tacilevu farming area of Savusavu. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu highlighted the ongoing commitment to drug enforcement, indicating that such operations are being carried out daily, resulting in multiple arrests and charges.

ACP Driu expressed gratitude for the community’s growing cooperation, noting that local leaders, including the Turaga ni Koro, are playing an instrumental role in supporting police efforts by providing information. He assured the public that drug raids will not cease, especially during the festive season, as the police remain determined to eliminate drug presence in the community.

While no arrests have been made yet in connection with the uprooted plants, investigations into both incidents are actively underway. This ongoing collaboration between law enforcement and the community offers hope for a safer environment as the police continue their vital work against drug offenses.

This proactive approach not only highlights the importance of community engagement in tackling crime but also reinforces the message that authorities are dedicated to maintaining public safety during a period typically associated with increased activity and potential risk.
