Last night, police conducted a raid in Narere, leading to the arrest of five individuals after discovering six zip-lock bags filled with white crystals, suspected to be illegal drugs. In a separate operation yesterday, a police team removed 272 green plants believed to be marijuana from the Tacilevu farming area in Savusavu.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operation (ACP) Livai Driu reported that drug raids are being executed daily, with numerous suspects arrested and charged. He emphasized the collaborative efforts between the police and local communities, stating, “It’s encouraging to see that people are coming forward to assist Police with information.”

ACP Driu reaffirmed the commitment of law enforcement to continue drug raids throughout the festive season in their efforts to combat drug-related issues. While no arrests have been made in connection with the uprooted plants, investigations into both incidents are currently ongoing.

This ongoing effort reflects a proactive stance by local authorities aimed at creating safer communities and reducing drug-related activities, highlighting the importance of community cooperation in law enforcement efforts. As the holiday season approaches, the commitment to tackling such issues instills hope for a safer environment for all.
