Police Commissioner Resigns: What’s Next for Qiliho?

Suspended Commissioner of Police Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho has officially resigned. Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, who also chairs the Constitutional Offices Commission, confirmed that Qiliho submitted his resignation last week. The Commission is scheduled to convene later this week. Qiliho was suspended in 2023 by President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere following advice from the Prime Minister regarding alleged misconduct. He is presently serving a two-year sentence for abuse of office.
