Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho, the suspended Commissioner of Police, has submitted his resignation. This was confirmed by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, who chairs the Constitutional Offices Commission. Rabuka noted that Qiliho’s resignation was submitted last week. The Constitutional Offices Commission is scheduled to convene later this week. Qiliho was suspended in 2023 by President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere on the Prime Minister’s recommendation due to alleged misconduct. He is currently serving a two-year prison sentence for abuse of office.
