Suspended Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho has officially resigned. The Prime Minister and chair of the Constitutional Offices Commission, Sitiveni Rabuka, confirmed the resignation, stating that Qiliho submitted his resignation last week. The Constitutional Offices Commission is scheduled to convene later this week. Qiliho was suspended in 2023 by President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere based on the Prime Minister’s recommendation due to allegations of misconduct. He is presently serving a two-year sentence related to abuse of office. Additionally, it has been reported that Qiliho sought legal counsel regarding his resignation.
