Police Commander Demands Accountability: “Step Up or Step Aside!”

The Divisional Police Commander for the Western region, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa, has urged his officers to address complaints effectively by adhering strictly to established processes and procedures.

During his address at the end-of-quarter divisional parade for officers from Rakiraki to Sigatoka, SSP Vaisewa emphasized the importance of treating every report with equal seriousness and providing adequate guidance to ensure complainants leave satisfied.

“No report should be treated lightly, and proper advice should be given to the complainant, so they leave satisfied,” he stated.

SSP Vaisewa also highlighted the Acting Commissioner of Police’s stance on zero tolerance for officers involved in criminal activities. He warned that any officer found to be misusing their uniform for personal gain through illegal means will face serious consequences.

He reminded his officers that the public expects prompt and efficient responses from the Police and urged them to either meet these demands or consider resigning if they feel unable to fulfill their obligations.
