Police Commander Demands Accountability and Compliance from Officers

The Divisional Police Commander for the Western Division, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa, has urged his officers to address complaints more effectively by adhering strictly to established processes and procedures.

During his address at the end of the fourth-quarter divisional parade for officers stationed from Rakiraki to Sigatoka, SSP Vaisewa emphasized the importance of treating every report with the utmost seriousness and offering appropriate guidance to those who file complaints.

He stated, “No report should be treated lightly, and proper advice should be given to the complainant, so they leave satisfied.”

SSP Vaisewa also reaffirmed the Acting Commissioner of Police’s stance of zero tolerance towards officers engaged in criminal activities, warning that any officer found exploiting their uniform for personal illegal benefit would face severe repercussions.

He highlighted that the community expects police officers to be responsive and called on his team to either rise to the occasion or consider stepping down if they cannot meet the demands of their role in law enforcement.
