Police Commander Calls for Zero Tolerance and Enhanced Accountability

The Divisional Police Commander for the Western Division, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa, has urged his personnel to address complaints effectively by strictly adhering to established processes and procedures.

During his address at the end of the fourth quarter divisional parade, which included officers from Rakiraki to Sigatoka, SSP Vaisewa emphasized the need for officers to treat every report with equal seriousness and to provide appropriate guidance to complainants.

He stated, “No report should be treated lightly, and proper advice should be given to the complainant, ensuring their satisfaction.”

SSP Vaisewa also reaffirmed the Acting Commissioner of Police’s firm stance against officers engaging in criminal behavior, warning that any officer who exploits their uniform for personal advantage through illegal actions will face appropriate consequences.

He highlighted the public’s expectations for police officers to be more responsive, urging them to either rise to the challenges of the job or step down if they are unable to meet the demands of policing.
