Police Chief’s Bold Directive: A Call for Accountability and Change

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa, the Divisional Police Commander for the Western Division, has urged officers to minimize complaints by rigorously following protocols and guidelines.

During the divisional parade marking the conclusion of the fourth quarter, the SSP cautioned officers operating from Rakiraki to Sigatoka. He emphasized that every report should be treated with equal priority, and appropriate advice should be provided as necessary.

“No complaint should be taken lightly, and the complainant should receive the appropriate guidance to ensure their satisfaction,” he stated.

SSP Vaisewa also reiterated the Acting Commissioner of Police’s policy of zero tolerance for officers involved in criminal behavior. He made it clear that any police personnel found abusing their position for personal gain through illegal means would face serious repercussions.

He noted that the public expects police officers to be accountable and responsive, urging those unable to meet the standards of policing to reconsider their roles.
