Police Chief Issues Stern Warning: “Step Up or Step Down!”

The Divisional Police Commander for the Western Division, Senior Superintendent of Police Iakobo Vaisewa, has urged his officers to address complaints effectively by adhering strictly to established processes and procedures. This message was delivered during his concluding parade for the fourth quarter, which included officers from Rakiraki to Sigatoka.

SSP Vaisewa emphasized the importance of treating each report with the utmost seriousness, ensuring that the response provided to complainants leaves them satisfied. “No report should be treated lightly, and proper advice should be given to the complainant,” he stated.

Additionally, he reiterated the Acting Commissioner of Police’s stance on zero tolerance for officers engaged in criminal activities. SSP Vaisewa warned that any officer found misusing their uniform for personal gain through illicit means would face appropriate consequences.

He highlighted the public’s expectation for police officers to be more responsive and called on them to either rise to the demands of their roles or consider resigning if they cannot manage the responsibilities of policing.
